Classroom Readiness for Safe Campus Return

Classrooms often pose hidden safety gaps: poor air circulation, outdated Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) filters, and cramped seating arrangements.

Picture faculty delivering lectures to masked students in a poorly ventilated room, where outdated filters circulate stagnant air - and spaced seating seems impossible.

Without upgrades, viral particles linger, discomfort grows, and anxiety mounts for both students and staff.

Take action by upgrading to MERV-13 filters, enhancing ventilation with increased outdoor-air flow or portable High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) units, and spacing desks for physical distancing.

Add hand sanitizer stations at entrances and implement one-way traffic flows using floor decals.

Post visible reminders for mask use, hygiene, and distancing.

Involve your facilities, maintenance team, and faculty reps in planning and piloting these changes ahead of the next semester.

With these measures in place, your classrooms become places of safe learning - and your post-secondary institution or university positions itself as a thoughtful leader in campus safety.
